The time it had taken to gather all the items and place them all atop the plateau was enough to make anyone dizzy. But ah, the Priest never had the fortune to understand what laziness was, and so, he worked. He'd worked so tirelessly that he could not yet begin the celebration until the early evening--though perhaps this was not as poor luck as one might think.

The new constellations hung in the sky, bright and gleaming, Hoshiko's delicate touch gracing them all with notes of immortality, and Hotaru's divine starlight glittered down among the golden fields. Silver and gild, light catches on the broken slabs of white marble and the spires are brought to life, broken pillars given fresh splendor as they glitter and gleam in the fading light of day. A feast has been set forth for all those who wish to attend, a bounty from their Cove home. A mingling mixture of meadow-caught hares, grouse, phesants, even the occasional golden fox, and then the ocean smorgasbord of seabirds and fish. The most brilliant catch? Two large yellowfin tunas, having been caught somehow off of the coast and dragged here w by sheer force of will. Likely killed by some Divine powers, as they both bore the burns and characteristic scars of Hotaru's less-than-sunny abilities, not often demonstrated any more.

Perhaps he's been inspired by Keston, or perhaps it is still some innate desire to soothe the hurt that Bhaltair had caused, but there is only one rule today, in this place that is closest to the gods and the sky, to see sea and mountain and field and sky.
To enjoy oneself, without the spill of blood.

She found him in her wandering way, twisting and turning in a nonsensical path across the unfamiliar territory. In the failing light, her eyes were harvest moons, bright and yellow and eager always to see all that she could see at once. A remarkable broken sculpture diverted her for a moment, calling her to circle it just once more to take in its imperfect beauty. The world had passed around her like the moving backdrop of a picture show, so many ruins, so many wonders, yet she was never exhausted of enchantment. She had always held a bit more love for the broken things of the world anyway; more character, more scars to trace, more story to tell.

“Lunafer!” came her bright call, almost surprised as if he had not been the destination all along. She wrestled her attention from the pillars and the stars and broke into an easy run across the last several yards, raising a tinkling song among the frost tipped grasses. “Ya know, you would have more energy for celebrating if you didn't brake your back working alone,” she teasingly admonished, bumping her hips gently into his. There was no mention of the gore they had seen in the pits or the bodies he had salvaged from the mud, nor was her grin diminished in the least. She had dealt with it all in her traveler's way, which was to cast it off as the world turning yet again around her. Still her connection to the Divine Alpha seemed more meaningful now, and she looked at him like a leader and not a keeper. At least until the scent of food flooded her senses. With a wink, she whisked away to the feast and left room for Lunafer to greet others, licking her dark lips as she went.

"Lypso'ru"&&"Amaranthe"

Together they made the trek to the highest part of their world, and perhaps, the most beautiful. Up here where the rocks were cold and dark beneath the shimmering stars, and the air glistened with exuberance that could have possibly been gifted by the God's, it was a magical part of their existence. Golden grasses sway beneath their heavenly avenue, a beautiful night kept just for them and of course; Hotaru. Lypso'ru had dressed for the occasion, her coat shimmered beneath a halo of well-washed fur, flowers decorated her entire body in whites and light blues, the softest of pinks joining the fray as they wove upwards across her forehead. Behind her; Amaranthe danced step for step, she glowed with a new age, a woman now, and she too had donned an outfit of soft, pearl colored flowers that twined about her tail and bodice. They were twins, save for the different shades in their eyes and the golden star - that Ama had decorated with golden flowers - had stamped on her forehead. They were a vision in themselves and they dedicated it only to their goddess, who hopefully, looked down on them with serene divinity.

In their mouths they both clutched three hares, bunched together by floppy back legs, the rest of their carcasses sway back and forward with each step. Lypso knew Lunafer would have gathered enough food to feed an army, but she wouldn't have felt right if she hadn't had contributed. As they cross the meadow, she finally sets eyes on him, amaranthe by her shoulder, they arrive together and in great spirits. "Lunafer," Lypso breathes first after placing her offering with the other picks of food, she moves forwards to caress the priest lovingly, before her daughter joins them as well; "merry meet, Luna... oh, it's so beautiful up here." her cheshire grin is unmistakable for the pride and happiness that masks her heart, she glances around for Anteros, but having spotted Quill, she dances off in that direction instead; "Hey, Quilla right? I'm Amaranthe, have you been up here before?"

Watching her daughter fondly, Lypso smiles before turning to Lunafer with a stern quirk of her brow, "You should have called on me for assistance," she tells him, "but you've done a splendid job." As she knew he would.

"Speech!"

like a tooth in heaven's throat,
the call to the plateau comes on a beautiful winter evening, the stars seemingly all the brighter for the chill in the air. he's not familiar with hotaru's holiday, but it does not take long, upon his arrival, to realize that some sort of celebration is occurring.

the radiant smiles of his packmates trigger a half-smile on his own lips: not quite enough to shake off the reserved expression in his eyes, but hinting at a warmth beneath. (and maybe the smile broadens--just a hair--at the sight of the feast. a trick of the light, one might think, but for the accompanying growl of his stomach.) "damn fine catch, lunafer," he remarks as he approaches the feast, eyeing the tuna with surprised appreciation. the sheer volume of the spread suggests several days of labor in the name of hotaru. and maybe it's the cynic in him, but he can't help but wonder if the hunt didn't serve an additional purpose; a distraction from the memory of what they had found in the pit.

but he chases the thought away, turning his black-masked face up to the alpha and beta to greet them with a smile before stepping off after quilla. he'd be damned if she got to that tuna first. but amaranthe's conversation would hopefully slow her progress; he would fall victim to no such distractions.

there was a call, not far from divine. not that it mattered, auriel would have traveled the distance even if their father had called all the way from the pits or even further- outside of doutaini. that was just how the offspring was. they were indebted to family. but, arose, they did as they followed the sound of the call, just north of where they had been resting in the beauty of the cove. it was time for a celebration, one that auriel had never been involved in. it made the young adult's heart spring forward. not that they believed that hotaru was the only demi-god here. they knew better. there had been many experiences where they had seen other gods and been in their presence. the thought makes auriel quiver before they focus on the destination that they were heading to. they showed, quiet and wide eyes as they saw the feast that lunafer had laid out for hotaru and the rest of the pack. the muti-colored adult stood off to the side, only giving a nod to their father that they were indeed there and here for hotaru. otherwise, they stayed quiet.

There were certain advantages to his job. He was obliged to spend time away from the Ridge, out of Rebel, and the classy brutes who seemed to settle every disagreement in the Ruins. Perk one. Perk two, he could attend parties while on the clock. And who didn't like to play while they worked?

Kynaios prowled into the gathering, noting with a raised brow those in attendance all wore the same brightly colored gem around their necks. Conspicuously bare-chested, he carried his gift to the presumed alpha - alphas? - a pair of angelic looking creatures whose effortless beauty far, far outclassed the usual scruffy, dingy, dirty rebels Kynaios was accustomed to. It was this, more than the gems, that dried his mouth suddenly. Even he, freshly groomed in his finest black and silver attire, felt more out of place than he could ever remember feeling.
This was a Divine party, after all.

He had a job to do, he reminded himself. As much as he resented Charlotte's most recent decree, he wasn't sure he could stop the war machine. And if he wanted to keep his family safe, he had to play his part. Or find alternative paths.
Either way, he was here to work as much as he was here to enjoy himself. So, he laid the dead adolescent goat in front of Lunafer and Lypso'ru, picked up his most inviting smile, and presented them with a smooth if characteristically rakish bow. He was obviously not brought up among courtly royalty, but he had manners. "My Lord, my Lady. Kynaios Valentine, of Rebel, at your service." He gestured at the goat. "A gift, for your pleasure."
will be tossing tembrel in here too

The invitation filled his chest with delight as Keston slipped off into the night, pausing momentarily at the borders of Cerulean Waters to call and wait for any members of Water that wished to accompany him. He had spent many nights beneath the stars lately as the surreal memory of the Stardust Festival replayed in his mind as words of prayer sprung from his lips. There was an undeniable calm and comfort he found amidst evenings in Doutaini, time well spent contemplating and past and future before him. A humble smile sat on his lips in his departure towards the plateau, catching the familiar scent of Divine's wolves during his approach. Night was kissed by winter's chill and the coarse whisper swept across his features, and Keston was grateful for the emboldened shawl of his namesake. The leonine mane caught in a gentle breeze before cerulean eyes settled upon the assembled group, his attention finding the fellow alpha first as his greeting was extended with a bow of his head. "Lunafer, it is good to see you and what a glorious party you have assembled!" The Lioncourt admired with mirth over the preparations, finding his focus drawn next to his childhood friend. "Lypso! I hope you have been well?" Keston inquired then, drawing towards the celebration decked out with elaborate decorations. He found a place to settle for the evening, eager to share a night beneath the stars with those he considered dear friends.

As had his sister, Jenci Beltran found himself entranced by the unfamiliar territory. Where Quilla's interest always had a playful, puckish element to it, the quiet male found himself in a reverent hush as he walked among the strange ruins. His size limited his speed, but he hadn't been far behind the Water king, obediently following his call. The unusual sense of holiness here slowed him further, raising the hair along his spine with a shiver that had little to do with the winter evening. Casting his pine gaze back toward Water territory, he thought back to the awesome images of the gods at the feast, the powerful display of Kei. What a strange place you've found yourself in, Jenci...

As if that wasn't the pot calling the kettle black. He was not exactly prepared for a party when he heard Keston's call cut through the encroaching darkness. Content in his solitude, Jenci had been settled in his den, working on a new project with the cotoneaster berries he recently collected as well as the walnut dye he had stashed away. Vibrant red and rich browns stained his paws and streaked up his pale cheeks. He arrived looking more shaman than artist, feeling more ostentatious than his quiet demeanor could quite handle. He paused at Keston's side, flashing an abashed smile at having been caught in his cookie jar. “Lunafer,” Jenci greeted in his soft, rumbling voice with a respectful nod. “I'm Jenci Beltran. Surprised to find someone who could keep my sister in a hundred mile radius, but I'm grateful,” he chuckled, glancing to find Quilla's attention still divided between food and a packmate. Unsurprising.

With a short bow, Jenci excused himself, feeling a bit out of place between great leaders. He fell back a few steps, pausing beside the roguish wolf who came among them with no collar. Jenci had just caught his introduction as he approached, and it reminded him how foreign so much of this world still was. “Rebel?” he addressed the dark dressed man, a subtle smile shifting on his black lips. “Not a subtle name. What do you rebel against?” His banter was warm, inclusive. As one who had lived so much of his life in travel, Jenci could rarely afford to judge a stranger.

His smile is warm and sweet, and he leans in to Quilla in response-- a gentle hug, that is followed up by the gentle chiming of his pleased near-monotone,"Quilla, I'm glad you made it. Of course it would, but then it wouldn't have been much of a surprise, no?" His gaze lifts as others begin to filter in--first among them Lypso'ru, looking particularly stunning this evening. She and Amaranthe, flower-filled diamonds of the Cove in their own right, bringing an added beauty and elegance to the celebration with their mere presence. He rises to meet them both, pressing a kiss to each of their cheeks in smooth succession,"I could have, but then you'd be too tired to join the other activities." he retorts, with a somewhat playful smile beginning to play over his lips.
"Thank you, Alistar." he dips his head lightly,"I found it somewhat decent practice for certain skills." Perhaps there is something extra hinted at in his tone, as perhaps he wishes to test the mettle of his warriors soon enough. But that is for another time. For the moment, he has other focuses and he smiles towards Keston as the allied ambassador arrives in short time,"Keston, merry meet! I'm honored by your attendance. ..Oh?" Kynaois approaches, bearing Rebel-gifts, and he smiles gently, gazing towards Lypso, "An ambassador from your aunt?" he asks, before returning his gaze to @[Kynaois], "Thank you for your kindness, but please, there's no need for such formalities. There is family shared here, and you are more than welcome to join. It is a pleasure to meet you, Kynaois. This is a wonderful gift, and I will be certain that all get a share." Already, he has plans.
And lastly, Jenci, whom he smiles at with a note of understanding,"Giving her space to roam means she always comes home." he teases, though there is a warmth in his tone that denotes his affection for her,"It is nice to finally meet you, Jenci. Quilla has mentioned you and my curiosity was nearing unbearable limits." So far, it is a small but lovely turnout, and he is pleased with those who come.

The stealthy hunter stalks his prey! Anteros' thoughts are less on the celebration at hand, and more on the fun he can have during it. And stalk he does, creeping up along behind Auriel before springing forth from the golden grasses to bound his way towards his sibling with equal parts affection and energy. There is a glorious, prideful beauty about the two siblings, angelic in their own right, and Anteros wears his bare, free and open with his affections and feelings, perhaps it is refreshing. He does not, however, take Auriel's reserved beauty as anything but lovely in its own right, for they have a certain pride and strength-of-self that leaves little to the imagination, and he feels as if, with Amaranthe, they are a complete package.
"Why are you hanging out back here? I've never seen a fish so big, and a goat so fluffy! Come with me, lets go try it?" he suggested, his hip bouncing along against Auriel's in an effort to get them to pull free from their shell just a bit more,"I'm sure Amaranthe would help! Heeeeyy Ama! And Quilla! C'mere!" Of course, he is anything but subtle. Now, where was Tembrel? Wasn't a party until the gang is together!

Kynaios plucked details from the gathering with the patience of a hunter and the discretion of a thief. He directed an easy grin toward his hosts and immediately aimed to capitalize on a new piece of information, telling Lypso warmly and quietly that, "Charlotte sends her regards," as if he'd meant to tell her all along. He was then swiftly relieved of expressing any more gentlemanly flourishes. With a grateful nod and a long sigh, the Rebel scout seemed to relax. "Ah, good. Well then. Thank you for your hospitality. I'm glad I could attend." Kynaios bowed out just as another blue-gemmed wolf began introducing himself - Jenci Beltran - and he padded lightly toward the thickest of the gathering.

It was simple to surveil such an intimate crowd without making a show of it, using his keen senses to aid him. He noted Keston, the golden man with a mane of fur and the blue gem, whose name he'd picked up from Lunafer's greeting. There was a trio of light-collared youths, as angelic as their presumed parents, another pair of Divine wolves (perhaps one was the 'Quilla' people were mentioning), and - "Rebel?"

Kynaios turned, finding the broad-shouldered Water wolf by his side. In another life, perhaps the man would have been a fine addition to the ridge, almost as hand-crafted for battle as the other men in the outfit - but there was a thoughtful look about him Kynaios found intriguing. Not to mention the vivid reds and browns staining his cheeks and legs. He looked more like an artist - or mystic - than a warrior. Kynaios returned the smile and fell into a bit of a roguish slouch. "God-given accessories," the Rebel answered cheerfully, glancing at Jenci's blue gem. He figured it was a close-enough stand-in for the gods themselves, without stepping on any devout toes. "Most of us have forsworn them for one reason or another. Personally, I never found them too comfortable to live with. But to each their own." He gave a faint shrug. "Your's is.. from the Water pack, I take it?"

as they sit from afar, not much seems to be happening. their ears twist to the sounds of new voices they never heard, too engulfed in listening in on conversations to even notice their sibling creeping up behind them. a soft sigh left their lips before they stared on, wondering what it would be like to be as social as the others and not sit here. but it was in their nature to be so-- oof. they had been tackled to the ground and for a moment, their eyes grew ablaze of fire and ice, a snarl left their lips. war? but then, there was the giggle of their older sibling and all is lost of the memories of war and when they had left doutaini. a small smile crept on their lips for mere milliseconds before it faded as he spoke. they only nodded to their brother's words as they followed behind, seeing as a bite to eat wouldn't be too bad, would it? they supposed that they could experience the finer things, observe from up-close instead of far away. step out of the comfort-zone, right? yes... uh.. fish, sounds good. auriel had only eaten some lamb when they had been gone from doutaini. an acquired taste for sure. but mostly plants and anything that they could scavenge for. every creature for themselves, right? but, nonetheless, they would try it. acquire a taste for something other than fresh kale and wild onions.

Time was hard to measure underground. There were no stars, and in the deepest places, there was no light. By the time he extricated himself from the dark, he wasn't sure if he was arriving a little late or a little early. All he knew was that there were other wolves near his home and he wanted to see them.

In a listless daze, he crept up and up and up until he stood on the Plateau. The stars were silver and shimmering overhead, and he heard a tireless ringing from their strange depths like a thigh bone trumpets playing alien melodies. In front of him, he saw several wolves circulating around a pile of food, and they were hemmed in by large plinths of white marble. Tembrel walked closer. It sort of felt like he was in a dream. He didn't like to come up above ground very often and he felt exposed like a worm in some freshly turned soil.

"Hello sir, hello. Hello Mr. Keston." He dipped into playful little bows toward Lunafer and Lypso'ru and Keston, a vague smile on his features. His purple necklace plinked against his chest with every gesture. But he didn't stop; he fluttered by them and continued over toward a pair of wolves - one familiar, and one not, but the latter was just as preternaturally pretty as the former. Tembrel came closer to them with his ears down, offering a sheepish smile. They looked busy, but so did Amaranthe in the corner of his gaze, and he'd decided he'd at least say: "Hi again. Hello."

Her mouth was watering, but as a general rule, food came second to her curiosity. A bright voice behind her pulled Quilla to a stop, the subtle, dark arch of her brows raised. Alistar's dogged path did not go unnoticed, and the impish she-wolf stuck her hind leg out as she turned, playfully jesting at tripping the warrior as he snuck by. Behind her, she found a lovely young lady, more familiar in scent than sight, but Quilla remembered Amaranthe from the last meeting at the cove. She had suddenly become an adult, and a nervous question wormed into Quil's thoughts. Had she been here so long already?

“No, never,” she answered, comforted by the realization. This was the longest she had stayed in one area in her life, but she was still finding fascinating new territories all the times, and the new wolves she met hardly failed to disappoint. She had to wonder if this was what it was always like to settle down or if there was some strange property of Doutaini that cultivated wonders and oddities. “It's so wonderful up here though! I always thought I had seen a little bit of everything, but nothing like this.” Her name rang out again, and Quilla felt suddenly transported in time. She could see her adopted siblings playing along the path of their travels, calling out to her to join them. Jenci was even here, she realized, spotting her painted brother talking with an unmarked male in the distance. She had always known she would find adventure and friends, but the sudden sense of family she felt was something she never thought to find outside of her birth pack. She hadn't even been looking for that, but it was there all the same, making her tail wag and her smile brighten.

“I think we're being called to dinner,” she said with a chuckle, and joined the others at the tuna. She recognized Anteros from their training, and one companion carried faint scents of the cove. The purple glint of Enigma caught her attention on the third, and Quilla gave a warm, welcoming grin to Tembrel. Mr. Purple's people were always a curiosity to her. “Jeez, I've never cracked into such a big fish,” she admitted, surveying the catch with a low whistle. “Here, maybe start like this?” she ventured, bracing one paw on a scaled side as she sank in teeth in near a scorch mark. The flesh peeled back surprisingly easy, flaky white where it had been cooked by Lunafer's magic. The morsel ran raw and pink the further she pulled away from the injury.

“Oh yea, we're learning how to hunt these delicious guppies,” she said after tossing the first strip Auriel's way. She smacked her lips, tongue curling over muzzle at the rich taste of the fish oil.

The wind, once reaching her ears, was amplified to a howl, her thoughts morphing it into the lonely cry of a wolf that sought only blood. It send a chill down her bones, freezing her muscles, but she still did her best, she did her most to keep moving, ignoring the sound of her heartbeat as it went faster and faster as she went up and up. She had been specially avoidant of this place, even trying not to gaze in it's direction. And now, somehow, of all places, Lunafer had chosen exactly this one. A whimper escaped her as she reached the top, feeling the wind ruffle her fur. She looked around, lowering herself to a crouch, her tail seeking safety between her legs. Spotting the large group of wolves, she bolted, her swift legs cutting the distance in a short time. The feeling of someone chasing you gives you more energy to run, you know?
She was late, and she knew it. She knew Lunafer wouldn't be mad... he never was. But he would probably be sad, or, worried, and she wanted him to be neither.
And today, there was something more that had dragged her up here, a bigger force that she wanted, needed with all her heart to follow. It was Hotaru's day. She wouldn't miss it for the world. Even if it meant coming back here. She was willing to take on her bad memories, and overcome them, at least for now. There was nothing compared to the feeling of the divine goddess's presence, to all the sacrifices that she had made in the past years just to make her pack safe and sound. Zinna wanted to be loyal, to prove that she appreciated all those things. To Hotaru, Lunafer, Lypso'ru. The ones she looked up to. Her jaws clutched the rosemary in angst, her gaze cast up at the divine constellation.
Looking back down, Zinna took a deep breath, taking in the aroma of the herb. She scanned the faces of those attending, a smile quickly finding a spot on her face as her gaze scouted the happy faces of her packmates, the Rebel scout and Keston and... a thin boy with a purple gem hung around his neck. The smile faded. With a whimper of defeat, she lingered for a moment in the outskirts, evaluating her own courage. This all was a little too much. Seconds passed before she realized she hadn't averted her gaze from the Enigma wolf for a good five to ten seconds. She now quickly did, praying he didn't see. Enough loitering.
With quick steps she approached Lunafer and Lypso'ru, pulling up a convincing smile and restraining her eyes from glancing over to the Enigma boy. "Luna, Lypso'ru! Sorry I'm late." she mumbled trough the rosemary, pulling close so she could hug them both. "Woa, did you catch all that on your own?" She asked, astonished, sneaking a glance at the load of prey.

"!!!"

Interacted with Lunafer Lypso'ru Tembrel
