Aches of a phantom's breath were felt across her body, the festival taking its toll. Too many people, too many lies that could be easily told, a time of peace, such crap. She looked into the small of the Naveen, glaring down at her own eyes. Strength and pain melting together in the pits of the unforeseen, twisting to a new melody of timeless age. It rippled away with a quick hit her paw, pitiful hate burning in her chest as she rose her head to turn her glare at the sky. The stars, still missing, the stars which could be seen by everyone from anywhere, gone from the sky, hiding away, she glared. Turning her pain, anger and all desperation away, forcing them onto the starless night. Her tail curling around her pale figure, nameless in such an abyss. All feelings tossed aside, turmoil burning, she twisted away, away, far from the sights that caused the self-intoxication of an emotional tempest.

She is lost to what she does not know, eyes to the ground, body curled unfathomably, Murmura lusted a distraction. Asylum seeking.

He aimed a pleasant smile up at the sky, ignoring the soft silting of dust that fell into his face. It had been an eventful night, he supposed; between curses and Icarus and Quilla and all the flowers he'd had to collect, he'd been very busy. He still had the flowers, trapped under his feet where he'd dropped them. Sage, daisies, violets. He didn't know what to do with them, so he'd left them on the ground at his feet.
He felt sort of like the party was over but he was still there, waiting for something to happen.
He also felt extremely tired.
The black knight sighed, looked around at the straggling remains of the crowd, yawned, and stood up. He collected his bunch of flowers and herbs. He wandered off into the grass, without any particular destination in mind.
He barely avoided tripping over someone lying on the ground a moment later, with his mouth crammed with plants. It was hard to see. He dropped them, skidding awkwardly and twisting himself out of the way, came to an awkward halt, and made a confused humming noise.
"Uh.."
"..sorry."
This wasn't the first time in the evening that he had stepped on or walked into someone. He was too big for it to be so crowded. He hesitated, staring at the silver stranger, collected one of the slightly crushed violets off the ground, and offered it with what he probably thought was an appeasing smile.
"Take this."

What the mind wills, the mind will receive. She felt a strong sudden weight on herself before it was quickly taken away and moved, a shower of flowers raining down on her. A sudden break of thoughts as she narrowed her eyes to slits, glaring up at the man who had managed to step on her. Apology not accepted. Even after he took a violet and presented it to her. Murmura could only let her tail lash about the earth, a clear display of her displeasure. She was not a small woman, perhaps not the largest, but she could not understand how she was not seen. The flowers an unknown fact of hindrance, focus locked on the man, the silver-eyed man whose name was lost to the sky of unknown mortality. She rose, slow and deliberate, tail slowing to wrap around her as she sat fully, face on to the dark as the night man. A growl lifting from her lips as she curls back into her self, shoulders hunching forward slightly as her eyes twist like vipers. "Who are you?" A mere whisper that held volume, her body plenty tense from all life's efforts as she sat and waited, glaring at the violet.

He stood, looking slightly lost. What was she upset about? He had apologized. He hadn't actually hurt her. Had he? He frowned, lowering the slightly wilted peace offering, and decided that she was fine. Or, at least, she looked fine. He blinked twice, stared at the grayish amulet she was wearing around her neck, and decided the best course of action was to cause no further offense.
"Um, Rascal. It's Rascal. Knight of Divine."
Maybe he should apologize again. He finally mentally identified the gray rock as belonging to Wind - very rare, or something; his mother had mentioned being born there, but he'd never been to it - and cleared his throat.
"Um, sorry. I didn't see you, because, um, you look exactly like the -"
"-stardust..."
He realized immediately that it was true. Not that he'd almost tripped over her because of her coloring; he'd done that because he was carrying so much stuff it was hard to see where he was going. She did, however, look like that. The same shade of silver. He smiled, scarred face hopeful.
"Please don't be mad. It was an accident."
He thought maybe she was behaving a little unreasonably, given that he hadn't actually injured her, but that was none of his business. Some people were like that. The black knight shook off the faint feeling of being unfairly treated - he often had to - and offered the damaged flower again helpfully.
"It's a violet," he said. "It stands for, um, faithfulness?"
So he'd been told.

Silent, she brewed, listening as he fumbled his name forth, as he looked at her gem (which she did in turn). Divine as he said laid against his chest, she lifted her eyes back to his, tail coiling beside her, only to still as her brows creased together. "The stardust?" A mere murmur on her tongue as she looked around her, she was, always had been, the same as the falling light, it seemed she had forgotten, or perhaps never truly noticed. Murmura glanced back at him, a small sigh escaping her lips as she nodded to herself before giving a small smile. "I suppose so..." An accident. She could only hum too that, for once, she believed it to be true. Rascal not seeming to be the type to willingly harm without cause, at least as far as she could tell she had not given him one. The flower once again her's to take, gladly she did so, slowly, before easing it to her feet, to get a better look at the violet and to hopefully continue conversation while keeping the violet safe at her side. "Faithfulness, hmm? An amusing sentiment, Rascal." Her lips twisted slightly, cheshire grin taking place as harshest winds and billowing thunders rolled away from sight, tense body relaxing with slight mischief in her eye, tongue rolling fresh words in amused glee. "I am Murmura... Queen of wind, dear knight."

His clumsy appeasement had clearly worked; he smiled cheerfully, relaxed, and embarked on a different subject of conversation. Queen of Wind? He had never met a queen. Other than his grandmother, he supposed; that had been a long time ago, though, and since then he hadn't exactly spent much time among the nobility. He wagged his tail and sat down in a puff of dust and a mess of disturbed plants.
"Oh, the queen," he said, cheerfully. "Yes, one time I uh, I knew someone who was a - a princess there - I think."
So his mother had claimed, although he'd wondered, when he was older, whether or not she was telling the truth. It didn't really matter, and he'd never really bothered to find out. He wasn't sure why not. It had just not seemed very important. He really never thought about wind at all; it was like, for his entire life, he had just avoided thinking about it for some reason.
"I've never been there," he said, after a brief, faintly confused frown came and went across his features. "What's it like?"
He was, again, not sure why he had never gone to the hill. He just hadn't. Then again, he hadn't gone to a lot of places - earth, ice, the storm valley. He should probably get out more. He frowned again and then shrugged at his own thoughts. Maybe he'd go. Maybe not. It seemed like, for some reason, he didn't really want to.
"Is it near, um, the mountains?"
It didn't cross his mind that this stranger he'd almost stepped on in the dark might not want to sit around chatting with him.

She couldn't help the rise of her brow, amusement trickling down from the coils of her lips. A princess and a queen far too different yet the same, she only nodded with a brisk need, holding in small chuckles at his own present cheer. She didn't know who he was, of course, his name had left her tongue but, who is much different than a simple word pushed through teeth. What made him do what he did? How did he do what he did? SO many questions she settled to ask at a later date. His inquisition unexpected, a moment left with silence as she looked for words to answer what the hill was like, though the painstaking truth hung from her lips like a dead man. "It's like a winter's night, cold and quiet... Dead. Cursed." She smiled, softly, sadly, but said no more as she rounded down to lay with her pays besides the violet. She refused to soften the mood to a dull grey and shifted herself to lay relaxed, calm, with a putrid grin. "It is most definitely by the mountains if not thee mountains. Though, I supposed it is more commonly told to be a hill. Quite amusing to me based on the size of such a thing." This was just what she needed, time to distract and lose herself in a labyrinth of simple words.

Rascal sorry this is so late muse has been hell.

Cursed? His head tilted slightly, silver eyes growing visibly distracted. Was the hill cursed? Maybe it was. The gods had cursed him, after all, for some reason; there was no reason they wouldn't do the same thing to an entire village. He hummed once under his breath and decided that it was best to stick to one thing at a time. Worry about himself, and then worry about all of that. Or not at all. Maybe it was none of his business. Maybe the gods would eventually take exception to his butting in if he wasn't careful.
Worry about it later.
"Oh," he commented, for lack of anything else to say about the new information. "Sorry to hear that."
An abandoned fortress. His mother had said something like that, once. The last person to know anything about wind. The last person to ever make him even think about the place.
He might, normally, lapse into a vague silence for a while, for lack of anything better to say, but he suddenly doubted that sitting and staring into space for a while was going to work well. He picked a new, desperate topic of conversation instead. Something that had nothing to do with any curses or hilltops.
"Well, Divine is pretty nice," he began. "There's the ocean, um, sand - crabs - one time I saw a sea monster. Actually, a few times. Have you seen one? They are large and gray and never come near the shore. You can only see them blowing water up in the air. It's like a, um, I don't know. Like a splash of water. I think they protect the shore from evil. What do you think?"
For some reason it was important to keep her from dismissing him and going off to do whatever queens did. Sleep on the ground, apparently, where nobody could really see them. He offered her a hopeful smile, exposing missing teeth for a moment.
