THE KEEPER OF STARS

dusk had crept across the linings of mountains and trees within a fervent display of unholiness. the stars stolen from their master - the sky. leaving nothing but a wake of darkness and luminescent from the moon above. how odd for the stars to disappear and not take the moon with them. it was a strong anomaly; one aris had come to accept as one that was not of his own. he had not caused this, despite his waking actions and thoughts before his encounter with otto. the rebel boy for kicks. yet, even since the loss of their encounter at the poet still found himself wandering the fields. unsure, and uncertain of where his path was leading him. he was lost, vacant, and unknowing to the world around him. peace a static image ringing within his ears and mind as the rose mottled child lingered firmly within the sewn brush of blossoms and paste. seemingly lost to the thoughts of his own sinners world. aberration fickle within his mind.

She had started to feel a bit ill shortly after arriving to the feast. Thus began her search for herbs. Aster swore she'd be back to mingle with the crowds, to make acquaintances (and maybe, maybe even a friend), but after she'd found a suitable herb to fit her needs she noticed another flower, bitter black cohosh, one of Ruellia's favored herbs for it's helpful properties. Oh! Her stores of chamomile and ragwort were getting rather low. One herb turned into another, into another, until Aster mouth was filled with various flowering plants- and still, her single honey eye searched the ground for more. (To think she once had no interest in herbs or healing, but now, it gave her much needed purpose on which to focus.) So intent is she that the stranger's scent went right by her. (Or, perhaps, it was more that she could smell nothing over the flowers.) Her remained to her right and was thus all but invisible to the half blind girl, so it comes as no surprise that in her next few steps she rammed her face into his rump.

Her recoil and muffled howl came immediately, and she stumbled over too-long, muddied limbs until she became a tangled mess on the ground. Her flowers were strewn as she cried out, covering the area and likely both wolves with petals, leaves and stems. As a youth sickly in nature, it takes her a moment longer to recover. (Her body shakes, she wonders if she collapsed- old fears, familiar fears, irrelevant now, she realizes.) Aster caused more injury to herself in falling, and the majority of her pain came from her hind ankle. A sprain, likely. The girl winced, and finally, seeks the stranger whose life she just bumped into.

THE KEEPER OF STARS

silent he sat, indulging in the peace of the night. even with the stars foraged beneath the dark cloaking of night, or whatever had seemed to thieve them from the sky aris found peace. the night was a comfort to him, solace and sweet. not many things could bring him peace now a days. well, not many people at least. the night was always a peace bringer and always would be. alas, peace was something made to be broken as many other things within the fickle and faded world around them. his peace suddenly coming to an abrupt stop - tranquilizing him in a state of upmost confusion and fear. blonde tresses matted themselves upon the spine of thorns, bristling to life as the shepherd boy sprung to his feet; blue eyes searching his surroundings as flowers and other various herbs dancing like confetti within the sky before landing carefully upon the grounds and two figure. a stray flower falling carefully upon the tip of the young boys snout - distracting him for a mere moment as he sneezed shaking his head quietly to rid of the nuisance.

the surprise wasn't exactly what one would call pleasant. if anything it spooked the poet, taking him off guard and scaring him more than anything. the sound more than anything seemingly as the young boy trailed from the grounds up to the one eyed storm. composure softening at the sight of such a fragile figure. muscles slacked quietly as aris' sighed, body dropping into a crouch - teeth pecking carefully at a few of the herbs and flowers stranded through the terrains. "here let me help you." it was mumbled statement, mottled and incoherent almost through the teeth full of rose and stem. blue eyes trailing upwards carefully to study the woman's face contorted in unadulterated pain, a frown crossing his features as he placed of what he gathered upon her feet. "are you okay?" he'd hum concerned.

"speech."

Perhaps it is some innate tie to Aster's voice, or perhaps it is only because he is currently lingering around the edges of the festival that Aster's near-distant cry kicks him into high-gear, and quickly, he turns upon his heels and sprints in the direction of the sound, brows furrowing. Determined-- he would not let Ruellia, nor Enigma, suffer any more losses, at any cost. And so, imagine his relief when he skids onto the scene only to find that Aster has been mire surprised than wounded, and he sighs rather heavily before deciding that perhaps she requires no assistance.
Still, he sits and lingers somewhere in the shadow, sightless eyes providing reflective pools of silvery-grey for Aster to find her solace in if something happens to go awry.

He does not speak--not that he needs to, and instead, he announces his presence--perhaps a warning, even-- by simply clearing his throat. Wordless, the 'ahem' seems only to accent the fact that the madman-Jester is more than keen on the current happenings, and would respond accordingly. Though for now, he is content to simply be available. Aster is her own woman these days, and he will not linger over her shoulder to watch her every move, but he WOULD remain somewhere behind the door to eavesdrop, in case she needs it.

The wraith-girl shook from head-to-toe, her eyes (or, rather, her honeyed eye- as her Volos teal one was hidden beneath stringy, matted fur) wide with shock, and yes, fear. Unlike her Mother, Aster was rather an open book, and her reclusive nature made these odd meetings all the more difficult. She watched in wide-eyed silence as the stranger began gathering the herbs she so meticulously gathered. Her lips with pressed together in pain, and her paw throbbed sharply, already swelling comically. Auds flick back against her head, and the look of pain is dashed away by worry. Momma wouldn't be happy that she'd gotten hurt, already she could hear Rue casting both insults and concerns upon her arrival to the Caverns. ('Foolish girl, you lovely, foolish girl, we need you. You must be more careful, more watchful, you must be more.') The stranger chases away her inner thoughts, however, when he approaches, placing the flowers gathered at her paws. 'Are you okay?' If Aster could blush, she would. Embaressment ruffled the matted feathers of fur around her nape, and she turned away, “Yea, sorry, it's a uh,"
she lifts her injured paw, revealing it's swelling with a pained expression, "A sprain.

Ahem.

Though a simple cough of his throat, Aster knew that voice. Or maybe, without even realizing, she'd grown more attuned to her gem (and thus others). Either way, Aster wasn't surprised when she curved her thin neck and found Mercury's unseeing eyes not far from her. Though he couldn't see it, she cast him a pained, grin, and her thoughts followed, 'Thank you for coming, Uncle.' Her sweet inner voice would ring inside his mind, with more clarity than Aster had, previously, been able to muster. 'I may need help home later- seems I sprained my paw.' And that was that, for the stranger was the one who deserved her attention. Half-blind eyes again meet Aris's, and despite being the one injured, her expression is utterly apologetic. "Sorry, don't mind tall, dark and creepy over there," A jest! Ruellia would be so proud, she'd thought Aster incapable of such... boisterous mannerisms such as humor. "He's my Uncle. I'm Aster. I'm, uh... sorry for interrupting your night." A pause, she flicks her eyes away nervously and chews her lip. The pain in her paw was distracting.

WHAT IF WE REWRITE THE STARS
SAY YOU WERE MADE TO BE MINE

keeper of stars. The young's ears would flicker silently at the sound - an unnerving presence wafting over the terrains sending a wave of uneasy ecstasy flowing down the bristled thorns prickling at skin. A looming presence of darkness perching itself with a watchful eye - like a hawk upon the corners of mind. The attention sprung wildly; flickering absent mindedly back to the tri-colored behemoth before him as a quiet frown pressed upon matted facial features. Blond tresses of light would ruffle quietly, as the child's head cocked to the side in a tilt - an attempt to further examine the injury without reaching boundaries too close. Then, there it was. The looming presence. It wafted through the area again - causing goosebumps to prickle at the whitened flesh beneath matted fur and sewn hairs. She spoke again. Addressing the creature of darkness, a friend, a family member. How delightful. How even more terrifying for him as well. A choked laugh would force itself past the lips of white, corners tipping upwards into a quiet grin as icy blue eyes flickered back to the corner before bringing their calming gaze back to the injured. "Aris. the words pressed past in a statement, head shaking slightly at her apologies. "Don't apologize - you weren't interrupting my night. Sometimes it can get lonely out here. Especially without the stars to keep me company."
