Let no sadness come to this heart.

He never understood why his family always had to be on the move. They were always traveling towards a place for much longer than they ever stayed. They had no roots. What was so healthy about that? Did a tree grow tall and strong by uprooting itself and wandering? Tenzin couldn't remember a time when he was allowed to stay in one place for more than a few sunrises. No one else in the pack seemed to mind. Everyone had their own duties to attend to and their own things to worry about. Besides, it was easier not to anger the elders. Their wrath was something almost no one dared to incite. Tenzin didn't have the courage to question the elders, despite his yearning to have a place to call his Home. It took him half a year to decide to leave and another to plan his escape. If his mother or the elders ever found out... He didn't even want to think of it.

After months of traveling alone, Tenzin was starting to miss companionship. Sure, there had been a few passerbys who had spent a night or two with him but they each had their own path to follow. He wasn't sure what his path held yet but someone had once told him that everyone had their own path but, if you had enough karma on your side, you may find someone who shares the same path as you. For whatever reason, he believed them whole heartedly. The universe only gave what you deserved. Tenzin couldn't think of many reason why he wouldn't deserve to find like-minded individuals on his path. He had never harmed anyone, never broke a heart, never killed what he wouldn't eat. He strived to be the best being that he could be. Wasn't that enough?

That was how the portly man found his way to miry wasteland. Mud clung to him, making his thick, timber coat seem even darker than it was. The mud and dried dirt seemed to mesh well with his unkempt hair. Somewhere along the journey, a few twigs and dried flowers had wound up matted in his coat. Still, despite his bedraggled appearance, his spirits were still high. This place seemed to be full of nothing but mud and dirt for miles. The only thing breaking the monotony of the muck and dead trees that appeared to have been on the ground for at least as long as he was alive was a single standing tree. It was as dead as all the others but still it stood tall. His viridescent pools gleamed with curiosity as he stared at it. How did this tree alone manage to stand when all the others had not?

Actions. | "Speech." | Thoughts. | Magic.

Carnal, disastrous, anything but pretty, she has traveled half the length of Doutaini thus far and has managed to come up empty. The land seemed haunted by prior times, a dormant volcano put to rest as it slumbered beneath ragged paws. Not much spoke ripe for taking. Everywhere whispered mundane stories of a peaceful time; where her country warred, thrived even. Tongue flicked over her teeth, serpentine against thin lips as the charcoal, silvery lined bodice traversed the open wound that was the crater born mire. travel dust sported her coat, unkempt, twisted and matted tresses that spoke little of hygienic nature. twilit eyes scoped the region for any interest, caught onto the dark pelt of another creature - blurred by the distance but the scents that twined between the rank aroma of dead land spoke of another carnal beast.

lips curled and bore incisors, teeth gnashed at the prospect of violence, and yet quelled as she neared the inky form. a blot against the sun baked land. muck squelched beneath heavy paws as she rounded upon the stranger. a gnarled old tree, lifeless, clinging to the soil as it leaned precariously with whatever grip the dead roots possessed, stood between them. the streak of alabaster upon the top of her muzzle wrinkled as her body shifted, muscles grinding, as she leaned to view the wolf on the opposite side.

how quaint he seemed. nothing called to her of the northern genetics. what a soft individual, she thought as her twilit gaze perused the features of the darker face. an utterly masculine appearance yet squandered on the lack of violent gestures to impress the gods. not every culture would be the same - in the stone hear that beat upon her rib cage this knowledge was known, but did not seem so privy as her cold eyes assessed the male. unworthy of her conquest, of the gods, there was a dismissal in the way she stood so nonchalant before him. throat unprotected, head held just so, and tail risen, yet not flagged behind the smudged backside.

"Vhat das a tree offer ya?" A heavy accent made the common tongue a heavy burden as it rolled off, the tone neutral though gruff. a tree offered nothing to her, it was nothing but an obstacle between she and tenzin, like a wooden shield protecting him from her jaws.

muck climbed her paled limbs, collecting in the rimefrost, matting it with it's abysmal touch. her stride was even, collecting beneath her in the same manner of the reflected figure at her front.

singly attuned to collecting wealth of another kind, her attentions were spent on the foliage, on the churn of wind and passing of clouds. impatience was beginning to collect in the well, with ferocity creeping along her rigid spine. her posture shadowed that, as though it would lessen their supremacy if forgotten. not one in the same, but only complete when side-by-side. two halves of the same piece, that is the only world recognized. without her other—that was a world Valtýr could not bear to fathom.

electricity dimmed the focus of her intrigue, and guided it towards the lifted display proffered by frigg. she was quizzical then, and found her eyes drawn towards her kin's quarry. nothing of his appearance spoke to her of familiar gains; not of the war-torn and embattled girth of kaldmunnr, and that lone was enough to provoke disinterest. with her sister's speech, Valtýr only offered a subtle roll of her eyes as she'd move to join beneath the tree, though visibly keen on nothing but allowing her rimed dusk offering a glare: their blades moved to the stranger. her sister sought to play, it would seem; a cat, fixed in it's predatory game.

Valtýr shifted, the weight lifting from one side to the other as she regarded tenzin, though greater in it's dismissal of him. edged by this delay in their expedition, the algid haunt of a stare would part from him and sidelong towards Frigg. it questioned, without the pass of syllables, as though her twin would hear the reprimand from the clip of a gaze alone. what are you doing? her brows curled themselves disapprovingly then, if that had not been enough.

Let no sadness come to this heart.

The woodsy-toned man stared at the tree. Did trees have paths to take, too, despite their inability to move? Was that how this tree alone stood tall, even in death, when others had not? Did he have a path that would lead to him standing tall enough to be remembered even in death? He wasn't given long to ponder the life or stories of trees before his solitude ended.

He could smell them before he ever laid eyes upon them. His nostrils twitched and flared as their combined odors wafted towards him. The scents struck him as female but that wasn't always the case. He turned his jeweled gaze away from the dead tree and squinted at the approaching figure. As she drew nearer, his gaze quickly ran across her form. Definitely female. He tensed a little at the realization. She was silver as a fish beneath the waves. She was small -at least when it came to weight as she appeared to be near the same height as him. He was almost sure that she wasn't fully grown. It was then that he noticed her shadow. The girls were near mirror images, too similar for them to not be related. They looked young but they held themselves like ones much older. He wondered, very briefly, what their paths contained.

The two strange girls stood on the other side of the tree, staring at him with twilit eyes in a way that made him uneasy. They looked at him as though he were lame prey. Subconsciously, he made the decision to avoid eye contact. The belief that men were inferior creatures had been drilled into him enough that he couldn't even make conscious decisions to show outright disrespect. He knew better than to speak first. Such things were not allowed. The leader of the two, or at least the one who had approached first, broke the silence first. "Vhat das a tree offer ya?" He cocked his head a little at the question. How should he answer that? What kind of answer were they looking for? Finally, he responded. "Curiosity." Perhaps such a short answer would be good enough. He hoped so as he wasn't sure they would want to hear a rant about life's paths.

Oh, she was privy to the daggers that pressed into her from Valt's direction. Always disapproving of a little fun. Fun never hurt anyone, and if Valt paid attention, they were gaining something valuable at this moment. Eyes slide to look sidelong upon the mirror image, just a hint of what is to come flickering across the thin pressed lips and in the depths of dusk born eyes.

They would conquer and take.

Tenzin was theirs. Ripe for the taking. Every minuscule notion of Tenzin's inferiority soaked into the sponge of Frigg's glory ridden brain. Even as her gaze had returned to the depths of the earth-touched face with just the barest notion that she'd caught the flicker of the male's gaze droop away from her own. soft. too soft. thoughts cemented the fate of the other wolf as a carnal growl hummed into the air, lips rising above the pearly youth of canines. smeared across the visage is a deep distaste for the lack of brutish nature the male resembles. this curious wolf was no predator, unworthy of their mercy.

"En slave, ja?" (A slave, yes?) Just a fraction of a minute her head tilts so that VALTÝR encompassed her vision, returned to weigh heavily against tenzin's frame. older, with a broader feel to the slender form, Frigg gauged the male to be of some use. "Slave. Du follow, ve lede." (Slave. You follow, we lead.) Teeth flash against the snow of upper lip, drawn over the gums in a toothy grin that forbade the stranger run. she would gut tenzin against the mire without remorse should the male flee. Twilit eyes measured the male, legs braced against the ground, paws splayed as joints bent in of the male's attempt to run. Eyes hardened as the thrill of hunt began to flow through her veins, anxious for the coming seconds of this interaction.

a slave! the bravado stacked and measured, the audacity and hastened decision brewed exasperation in valt, though outwardly the mettle of her stoicism could not be bent. a step drew her towards their supposed serf, and as it would be of want to do, her mind brewed a thousand and three reasons why it would be a poor choice.

even so, as the words commanded parting from her sisters lips, valt nodded solemnly. all the while, motherly nagging clipping the edge of her patience. responsibility would be greater as her sister worked to establish themselves in this new place. it seemed frigg was anxious to make settlement, taking a blessing from their misfortune. but, as they were always better united the shield-maiden took to formation, her body widened it's stance, with limbs splayed. an air of authority rose in this movement, with her tail flared high at her back and a menacing smile filled her features, displaying fervency on each lip and tooth.

"fitu, though." (fat) she uttered this, unsatisfied by this choice. his rotund exterior spoke of his habits. easy enough quarry, but what good was a lazy drudge? never room for argument. that was their way. her sister bade action, and left nil a second to disagree. her muzzle made a swift motion, gesturing to accept and follow. with the claim staked, she spoke then, to Tenzin, "no use in delay."

a distant observer, stranded like the moon among starless night. her presence is announced by a whisper of cool air, a kiss of frigid promise-- and although she moves padfoot-soft, there is no mistaking that bone-pale figure amidst the stretching darkness of the wastes. the queen moves at a leisurely pace, those roving eyes lost among shadows cast by the cant of that feminine profile. her smile is marble-cold, vague, a mere mask across the ivory of her delicate features.

she regards the small group with muted interest, a lingering presence to the very outermost of their senses. though she'd not witnessed the previous exchange, the vast contrasts in posture intrigued her. a soft hum falls, low and melodious, from those lily-soft lips, the gem at her breast flashing as if her god looked on in tandem.

He speaks of death and life

he was nothing but a fragmented piece of imagination unto the world. a distant observer clothed in sheets of darkness as starry eyes gazed upon the on going interactions. his presence almost ghost like as silent eyes and yearnful ears attune them self to the scene before him. he cares less of those surrounding him, his entire focus being upon the trio centered within the kuro's and their purpose their. for the earthened scout had never seen the two identical chimera canines before, let alone the vagabond. a possible pair of friends, or family - he reckoned. though with further onslaught of directions and listening the judgement of uncleanliness is casted aside. hackles raising quietly at the uttered annoyance of the word slave. newt's figure would hunch forward, brows raised in concern, confusion, and defiance upon the trio. concern lacing his features for a brief momentum before he pushes himself forwards into the crowds, waiting he would do no longer.

the death contraption sunk beneath his feet with such fervor as the scout pressed forwards. alabaster bones working quietly beneath his skin to push him from the vaping shadows unto the group. a firm line was pressed upon his lips, seriousness, pressing firmly upon the carnage black crinkling. Everything alright here? Newt's voice was crisp, deep within his accent as golden blue irises flickered between the trio. his shoulders rolled forwards slightly as the brit stationed himself to the sides of the small convening group. brows raising quietly in question at the group against the man, more than for him.

Let no sadness come to this heart.

The timber man stood stiffly, his stance in a strange combination of neutrality and anxiety as he waited for a response from the strange women. "En slave, ja?" He may not recognize the other two words, or syllables if you will, but he knew the word slave. Emerald orbs widened in surprise and his tail shifted downward a few inches. Had he truly left his home to avoid servitude and find peace only to wind up ensnared all over again? The first girl spoke again. He caught only the words 'slave' and 'follow' but it was more than enough to make his heart sink. He vaguely saw her teeth flash. His ears flattened against his skull and he licked his lips. He immediately lowered his tail again, waving it swiftly while low to the ground like a flag of surrender. If his insecurity hadn't been evident before, it was then.

He dared to cast a glance at the second female, catching her snarl and raised tail, before lowering his head as well. His ears briefly flicked up when her vocals sound but he couldn't make out what she had said. He sighed deeply. Perhaps he wasn't meant to have a happy path. Or perhaps this was a strange blessing in disguise? Perhaps they weren't as cruel as his mother and sisters had been? Tenzin wasn't sure.

A soft hum caught his attention. He cautiously tilted his head enough for his gaze to fall upon yet another woman, this one pale in comparison to the other two. He hadn't even noticed her approach. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, defeat evident in his face. When he opened them again, he saw that the new female didn't have the same aggressive stance as the others but that didn't quell his fears any. She had some sort of strange, glowing rock at her breast. It was a curious thing but he didn't dare look for long. He shifted his gaze down to his feet. Perhaps she was the leader of the girls? It was the only explanation that the poor sod could think of. Surely only royalty could wear such splendid things.

Apparently wallowing in self-pity made the portly man almost completely unaware of his surroundings. Yet another creature approached. The musk was masculine so Tenzin looked up to see who had joined this strange party. The man was a comprised of a creamy hue. When the male spoke, it took a while for the words to register in Tenzin's mind. This male was brave, but evidently stupid, to speak in the company of so many females without being commanded to. Emerald eyes widened in surprise as he stared at the newcomer. Who does he think he is?! Surely he wasn't with the women. Was he one of those rebel males who thought that they were equal to women? That never went over well, he knew. His only brother had made that mistake and he had paid dearly for it. Finally, his brain pushes past the male's audacity and registers the words he spoke. "Everything alright here?" The timber's lips part as he goes to answer but a quick glance at the one who called him slave, forced him to close them rather quickly. He couldn't afford to anger her or her mirror image.

The white star dotted in the midst of her forehead wrinkles underneath the lines of a scowl as her gaze pins her sister for a few seconds. "Fitu, though." Her eyes scoured the male's body once more, finding pockets of fat that sagged around the edges, where his body hinted at more slender definitions. A soft male in a plethora of ways, though overweight, they could work that excess fat off their newest addition.

A flash in the depths of the murk, with the sun near its dying peak, draws the twilit gaze for a minute. She stares into the distance with a calculating look within the depths of dusk pools, thin lips drawn tight as she awaits the glint of light off some reflective surface once more. When nothing comes she turns back to the slave and her mirror image with a lifted shrug of her shoulders to communicate a lack of knowledge at whatever had gleamed just out of reach.

Though her mirror had pressed them to move, it would seem a delay would present itself in the form of another wolf. Lips quivered, just beginning to raise with a silent warning curled on the edges. How presumptuous of this man to assume she and her twin were in some sort of distress. Viking warriors never warranted the aid of some gallant knight rode up to save them from perils. When their slave did nothing to raise alarm there was a roll of satisfaction that strummed across surface thoughts. "Ist good." (Is good.) The curl of her tongue against hidden teeth struck the words gruffly against the air as she addressed the man off to their side. It was, in fact, the only offer of words she harried toward Newt as she moved to nip the heels of Tenzin and march from the mire.

"Come du, we go now." With a flit of eyes towards her mirror image she began to leave the premise immediately. No need to stir trouble if they'd plucked their ripe fruit from the branch. Collected, they must find a place of shelter for just a minute to decide their course.

Sail out, winds billowing, they'd find their redemption in glory.

(She makes to exit with Tenzin.)

ego: forged not by the hands of sons of ivaldi, but brokkr himself. with the brilliance of thor's hammer, the brats would hold their ground. united, the renegades would not be snuffed. could not be curbed from decision as their mettle would not allow a waver in conviction. with the approach of further intruders valtyr knew this to be an intervention done in vain. with the visible give in tenzin's posture, she knew it to be chiseled in stone. a smile drained the ferocity from her features in but a breadth of a second. her eyes were kept to Newt as her sister moved to herd their newly acquired wealth from the pits. this, done so to ensure there'd be no movement of reprisal, her youthful figure bore the semblance of the barbarians that bore them. her head rose defiantly, though still positioned to ready itself for fight. she would not move an inch until her sister and Tenzin would lead the departure from that place and towards their supposed encampment. awaiting tenzin and frigg's exit

He speaks of death and life

Darkness; it seemed to descend upon the lands within the form of a wolf. Cloaking the sinister pits in a mask of despair. Contoured brows would raise quietly in disapproval, and sengened sadness at the fright the sizeable brute would put off - ocean irises narrowing quietly at the hostility between the two faes. They smelt nothing of Doutaini or any of the packs here. Not even rebel. There was something about them that made Newt uneasy, perhaps it was their demeanor, or even the way that they swept among-st the lands demanding claim upon an innocent life. One thing he knew though, was that he did not like it. The brute before him was quivering with fear, a quiet and gentle soul being threatened by none other than the clutches of his past before him. He was no slave.

A quiet and gruff chuff would press past his lips as ebony paws moved the earthened brute forwards to postpone the two's departures. Posture calm and collected as his eyes bored into the chimera witches. He will not leave New'ts voice was gruff and quiet, calm rather than threatening and harsh as his muzzle tilted downwards slightly before trickling between the two. He has the right to choose who he goes with. He is not a slave. He didn't care how high and mighty that the two thought they were, they were nothing but equals within the scout's eyes - and had no right to reap such a thing upon an innocent life.

The fright that clouded the young travelers eyes was what seemed to fuel him in such a way, he wanted to protect this man. He needed to protect this man. It was unfair, he was new. Nothing but a innocent soul seeking a new start. He reminded him too much of the man he once knew and loved. Perhaps, that is why he felt such a strong need to protect him and follow him. This wasn't him though. It wasn't his past, it wasn't the guy whom he had loved so much. But, the aura, and persona he put off remind him way too much of him.

Clipped claws would dig quietly within the dirt as the man stood his ground within the brazen horizon, growth weaving from the pads of his feet shooting wildly upon the grounds in an attempt to wrap gently around the man Tenzin's feet. A quiet and consonant gesture of peace, and kindness in an attempt to soothe his nerves and distract from the hostility of the two chimera females. A gentle grin of reassurance would press at the brutes lips as his vision tipped to the cowering man, If you want to come with me instead, you're more than welcome. My name is Newt. I am from the pack of Earth. You'll be safe there. I won't let anything happen to you. The word I had slipped from his maw with ease, sending a shock wave of surprise through his bend spine. The word wasn't supposed to come out as I, but rather we. In a reference to his pack, and his family. But the single letter syllable had pressed past his lips with such ease.

There was no need for a squabble here. For Tenzin was his own man, whom had his own choices. The ferociousness of the women swaying his opinions upon the brute's mind - prompting him to believe that he had no true choice as to whom to go with. Newt wouldn't allow it though. He wouldn't allow the trio to leave without a verbal confirmation from the brute himself that he wanted to leave with them, rather than having to be forced to leave. Blood shed was no necessary, yet if it ensued he would defend the man's life with honor, and dignity to set him free. After all, he did have a debt to repay - and death wasn't as scary as a thought to him as life was.

The earthened gem glimmered brightly upon his breast, filling hi with a sense of peace. Almost, as if Kaede were looking down upon the ambassador with pleasure that he had chosen to do the right thing and not surrender such a innocent soul to the clutches of barbarians. Almost as if the god were pleased with the actions of the scout. The flash of sharpened incisors didn't discern Newt - not one bit, he still held his ground. Calm; collected, and kind. He displayed no lodgings of hostility, only means of making peace upon the lands.

Let no sadness come to this heart.

"Ist good." Tenzin heard the first woman reply to the foolish male. He kept quiet, not daring enough to say anything to dispute what she had said. He kept his emerald gaze on the mud below his paws. A quick nip to his heels moved the chubby male into motion. "Come du, we go now." Her accent was thick but he understood what she said. He wasn't sure where he was going but if his new mistress bid him move, move he would. He was careful to keep a steady pace. He didn't want to move too slow and risk testing her patience nor did he want to move too quickly and have her think that he was fleeing. He didn't dare glance back to see if her mirror image had moved to help herd him. What if he accidentally made eye contact? Too risky.

His ears flicked to hear the man's voice as it rang out again. He had said something about Tenzin not leaving. Something about him not being a slave. The dark timber male's eyes widened even more and he snorted, resisting the urge to shake his head at the man's foolish bravery. Is he trying to get himself killed? His brother had gotten his tongue torn from his mouth for saying such things, from their own mother no less! Still, despite his foolishness, Tenzin wished good things for the man, hoping he had a good path in his life. He wished he had such bravery.

Tenzin mustered up just enough courage to glance at the paler male. He noticed an emerald gem near his chest that he found curious. The pale, silent woman had held a similar gem, though of a different color. Was this guy royalty too? A gentle grin played upon Newt's lips but Tenzin did not return it. Instead, he turned his head to face forward in an effort to see what he was being herded towards.

He didn't get far, though, before he tripped. Something touched his feet, startling him. He yelped as he fell flat upon his face. He quickly pulled himself up, hoping the women hadn't noticed. When he looked down to see what he had stumbled over, he noticed some sort of plant that he had never noticed before. Are those vines or something wrapped around my feet? Where did those come from? His eyes grew wider than ever, seemingly on the verge of popping right out of his skull. Surely they hadn't always been there! How could they grow through such thick mud? In a desperate attempt to solve this new mystery, his gaze followed the length of the flora, finding its source at the paler man's feet. Bewilderment and fascination was evident in his face as he stared at the man, briefly forgetting about his new mistresses.

His audits pointed straight at the other man as words spilled forth from him. He introduced himself as Newt of the pack of earth and offered him the chance to come with him. Tenzin stored the name in his mind. "You'll be safe there. I won't let anything happen to you." He tilted his head in curiosity. Did this man's courage have no end?
He stared at the man, memorizing his face. It was truly a tempting offer, something he could only dream of. Did he have some sort of secret rebel pack hidden away from the women in power? How had they not been discovered? He looked back at the plants attached to his paws and then at Newt. "Uhh... Did you.. Uh.. This?" He struggled to find the words to ask if he had somehow made the plants grow, so he gestured to them with his nose.

It was then that he remembered the two women who had laid claim upon him. How had he forgotten?! He had even spoken without permission! Fear swelled up within him again as he whipped his head back towards them and then dropped his skull low again as if in apology. As much as he wanted to be free, he didn't want to be the reason this lionhearted soul got maimed or killed nor did he want to get himself harmed.
