Prey Account Guidelines!

what is it?
The Prey account is available to any sitemember to begin a hunt in character, and uses dice rolls to determine statuses and effects like the success of the hunt, potential injuries, and their severity. It's a way for people to get involved and interact, while keeping things interesting and realistic.

how do i use it?
When someone posts on this thread to request the Prey account for a hunt, you may anonymously volunteer to act as the Prey. Please be sure that the person who plays the Prey is not a roleplayer involved in the hunt itself, to keep things fair and unbiased. Here's the log-in information:

username: Prey
password: prey

Easy enough! Next, you need to perform some dice rolls. These numbers will tell the roleplayers whose characters are involved in the hunt if they are successful, if there are injuries, how many, and their severity.

You can use this site to roll virtual dice: http://www.random.org/dice/

The stats are as follows:
1 indicates a FAILED hunt, injuries present
2 indicates a SUCCESSFUL hunt, no injuries
3 indicates a FAILED hunt, no injuries
4 indicates a SUCCESSFUL hunt, no injuries
5 indicates a FAILED hunt, injuries present
6 indicates a SUCCESSFUL hunt, injuries present

determining injuries
Once you have determined if the hunt is successful or failed and if injuries are present or not, you are going to roll for the total number of injuries. So on Random.org set the first box (the integer number) to 1, then set the value between 1 and the number of wolves in the hunt. For example, if you have four wolves total, it will be 1 and 4. The number generated will be the total number of injuries: i.e. if you generate a 2, two of the participating wolves will be injured.

Now, we go back and change the integer to the number of wolves who were injured. The number generated this time will indicate who in the line-up actually has an injury. So if your numbers are 3 and 4, the third and fourth wolves in the posting order will be those injured.

Lastly, for each wolf injured, you must find out the severity of their injuries. The first number should still be the number of injured wolves, but we're now looking for a value between 1 and 8. Compare each number to the severity chart below. Please keep the injuries this vague to give the players freedom to choose how their wolf is injured during the hunt.

1 - minor bruising
2 - major bruising
3 - one minor laceration
4 - several minor lacerations
5 - one major laceration
6 - several major lacerations
7 - strained muscle(s)
8 - minor fracture

Here is a picture walkthrough if you need more assistance in replying to a hunt.

posting format
Now all that's left is posting this information on the thread! You may post a small description of the prey to be chased or simply state it. Please follow the following format:

insert a description of the prey if you so choose or simply state the prey

Hunt Success: failure / success
Injuries present?: yes / no

Participating Wolves
1. Name - whether or not there is an injury - injury severity
2. Sally - injury - several minor lacerations
3. Mark - no injury
4. etc.

<div style="margin: auto; text-align: justify; width:500px; color:#000000;">
<div style="font-family: georgia; font-size: 30px; text-align: center;"><b><i>Prey!</i></b></div>

<img src="http://i.imgur.com/ZyTpIyB.png" style="border:5px solid #FFFFFF">

<div style="margin: auto; width:470px; font-family:times; font-size:12px; color:#222; letter-spacing:0px; line-height:11px; text-transform:lowercase;">insert a description of the prey if you so choose or simply state the prey

Hunt Success: <b><i>failure / success</i></b>
Injuries present?: <b><i>yes / no</i></b>

<b><i>Participating Wolves</i></b>
1. Name - whether or not there is an injury - injury severity

<hr style="margin: auto; width:500px; height:20px; background-color:#ffffff; border-color:#ffffff;" /></div>

We only ask that you don't abuse this privilege. It's all in fun, and a way for everyone to experience a new aspect of semi-realistic roleplaying, along with the surprise of randomized stats, chance, and risk. If you ever have any questions or are in need of clarification, please do ask a staff member or a more experienced member of the site for some help.

Have fun, and good hunting!
