The refreshing spring breeze carried the fragrance of the ocean all up in the hilly terrain, covered in weed and brambles. The scent was heavy in the air and it grew even heavier the more one neared the ocean side. The large rogue strided over the land. The area proved to be a bit tricky but he managed to keep his footing with ease. He enjoyed the fresh ocean breeze, taking the salty air deep into his lungs. He remembered his mother's saying about the health benefiting sea breeze and its easing effect on laboured lungs. Some story about a acquaintance of her's who moved to the sea side to cure his chronic bronchitis or something. She never heard of him again though... As far as the story goes it could as well be a simple tale she came up with to sound a bit more knowlegdeable around her pups. This so-called acquaintance might not even exist. Yet, now that he experienced the pleasant breeze for himself he started to wonder, there might be some truth to it.

Nathaniel wandered about; aimlessly. Purely enjoying the stroll and the fragrance. Avoiding the brambles whenever he could, taking his time. He had nothing in mind. Just taking a walk to familiarize himself with the territory. Look out for scent marks, supposedly. But he soon forgot.

True, there wasn't much growth in the Summit, but she loved the place nonetheless. The danger of the cliffs failed to frighten her, but gave her a sense of risk that instead thrilled her. And the sight of the waves, crashing into the steep rocks with a mighty thunder, was a sight to behold. The petite wolfess had placed herself on one of the flatter rocks and stood motionless, simply enjoying the salty breeze and the sun on her fur. The sound of footsteps made her ears perk backwards, then she turned her whole head back to see who was the one approaching.
The tall, brown wolf seemed still unaware of her presence; he wandered a little more away. Pale sunny eyes engulfed the landscape without searching for anything it particular. She smiled and stood up, shaking her fur. Better go meet him. Zinna liked meeting new people.
The stranger was further now, but the distance wasn't one that a steady trot couldn't cut for a couple of seconds. "Hello there!" she offered a friendly wag of her tail alongside the greeting, broad smile settled on her features (as always). "Welcome to the Grave Summit."
"!!!"

Too engrossed in the stroll and with his sense of smell still overwelmed by the heavy fragrance of the sea, the yound man failed to notice the approach of the unknown woman. It simply slipped his attention. Therefore, the sudden appearance of the latter gave him a start. His body automaticly took a somewhat defensive stance, lowering his center of gravity, hackles slightly raised in surprise. Stupid! Such a negligence on his part!

How fortunate that the other held no ill intent towards him, greeting him in an polite and overly dazzling manner. The brown male cast a glance at her. A lean, caramel colored fae, maybe with a slight reddish hue. Fur illuminated by the sun. Pretty short but slightly older. She did not appear to be a treat. At least for now. He causally shook his tenseness off. Swiftly taking a few steps towards her. Also wagging his tail lightly, mimicing the female. Smiling, yet his smile appeared to be fake. Eyes cold, with the hint of anger. His displeasure was apparently not directed at the beige woman. It might appear like that, however, he was actually quite dissatisfied with himself. He hated the fact that his keen eyes, perceptive nostrils and superb hearing he was so proud of did not alert him earlier.

Nothing to be done about that. What happened happened. At this point it was better not to loose even more face to the other. "Hello.", he murmured. Not feeling all to eager to follow common courtesy. He was not really interested in this missis name and such. Nor did he feel like giving her his own just like that. What perked his interest in the other was more practical oriented. He didn't met many wolves here so far. Whereas she seemed to be a native or at least was around here a bit londer than him. Calling this place by a name...

"Grave Summit, huh?" Nathaniel found the name oddly befitting, but at the same time he thought it was strangely lacking. Not considering the salty air, which he, on the other hand, deemed highly noteworthy. He took his eyes of her, gazing over the littered, drab surroundings. On a closer look there appeared to be slight scattered variation in the vegetation. Overall simple, lowgrown. Not that he cared. He noticed on his walk earlier. As long as it was not bramble vines and there were no thorns it was good.

His view returned to the cream colored female. Really, she was short. "Nice to meet you. You live around here?" The brown wolf tilted his head. Just now remembering that he meant to look out for markers on his walk around here. He did not cross any border unknowingly, right?

Something was off in the smile of the stranger, but for the love of Hotaru she couldn't place what. Zinna had never seen a fake smile. So instead she smiled back, beaming up at the browny face of the other. He regarded the scenery for a moment before turning back to her. To her surprise he seemed uninterested in exchanging names or any other casual greeting, but she didn't mind. He placed his question. "Nice to meet you, too. And yea." she answered, then added. "I mean, kind of. A bit more south, actually. Down the beach, in a Cove with my pack." she finished, her head cocking to the side in curiosity. "Where do you come from?" she inquired.

"West.", he stated bluntly, not bothering to attach many words to that kind of simple explanation. There was no need to go too much into detail to begin with, not with a absolute stranger like her. He mainly followed the rising sun on his journey. Trekking over mountain areas and many mountains to follow. For months or so. He did not keep track on time, for all he cared, it did not matter. As long as he managed to fill his belly everything was fine. It was not like things changed much ever since he was on his own.

It did not seem like the wolves in the area where very guarded. This fae in particular did not appear very bright, giving away the location of her pack just like that - not like he did not appreciate it. She did not know him. He could be a murderer, a lunatic, for God's sake! And here she was smiling like a fool. Naive. Way too trusting. Nathaniel suspected that it might turn out to be a mere act. It were always the ones who wore the brightest smiles that turned out to be the most cruel. If they wanted something they would approach giving their all to charm you. To get on your good side. Until they archieve their goal. If you are lucky their plan did not include to get rid of you. If not... Well that would be too unfortunate.

He did not really know where to put this easy going woman, she just looked too soft. On the one hand she appeared like a weak woman, on the other he knew too well how much the outer appearance can fool you. His mother was the best example for that. A seemingly lovely, soft-hearted fae, yet on the inside calculating and as cold as ice. A scary woman.

Nathaniel decided to keep his guard up for now. Circling her right side approximately 100 degree, while keeping an eye out for her. Motioning towards the cliff. It was then when his eye fell on a thin strap around her neck. This is? He halted his steps.
Silence. The sound of rough waves clashing against raw rock got carried over by the bleak wind.

Nath took the question pretty much by the letter. Don't know why but he ended up way to wary..
